The BRADY SKH-55 is a 55-gallon drum-style chemical class spill kit designed for fast response to medium-sized hazardous material spills. The lever-lock drum meets UN specifications for transport and storage, and it opens and closes quickly so responders can access contents without delay. Inside, surfactant-treated absorbents pick up a wide range of aggressive chemicals while remaining chemically inert. The kit absorbs up to 38 gallons per deployment. It is intended for use by facility safety personnel, environmental compliance teams, and trade professionals managing chemical hazards in industrial or commercial settings.
This kit is suited for facilities that store, handle, or transport aggressive chemicals including acids, bases, solvents, and unknown liquids. Placing kits near chemical storage areas, loading docks, and process equipment reduces response time during critical spill events. The drum format keeps contents organized, protected from contamination, and ready for immediate deployment. Kit contents include 50 absorbent pads (15 inches by 19 inches), 4 socks (3 inches by 12 feet), 8 pillows (17 inches by 19 inches), one pair of nitrile gloves, 5 disposal bags, goggles, and an emergency response handbook.
Designed for use as a chemical class spill response kit suitable for facilities handling aggressive liquids including acids, bases, and solvents in industrial and commercial environments.
Position the drum in a stable, accessible location near areas with elevated spill risk. Before deploying kit contents during a spill event, personnel should don the included nitrile gloves and goggles as minimum PPE. Follow facility hazmat response procedures and applicable local regulations for containment, cleanup, and disposal of absorbed materials. Dispose of used absorbents in accordance with local, state, and federal hazardous waste regulations using the included disposal bags.
