The BOSTON GEAR G00306 is an oil impregnated bronze flanged sleeve bearing designed for light-duty shaft support in rotating machinery. With a 3/16-inch inner diameter (ID), 5/16-inch outer diameter (OD), and 5/16-inch overall length (OAL), this compact bearing provides a plain bore interface that accepts shaft loads without requiring a separate lubrication system. The flanged design adds axial location capability, preventing migration along the housing bore. Manufactured to SAE-841 standards, the sintered bronze material retains oil within its porous structure and releases it gradually during operation, reducing maintenance intervals. HVAC techs, millwrights, and equipment repair professionals install these in motors, blowers, and small gear assemblies.
This bearing suits residential and light commercial applications where a small-diameter shaft requires a cost-effective, self-lubricating support point. Typical installations include fractional-horsepower motor end bells, fan blade hubs, pump housings, and conveyor guide assemblies. The flange outside diameter measures 7/16 inches and the flange thickness is 1/16 inch, allowing the part to seat against a housing face and resist axial thrust from one direction. The plain bore and oil-impregnated construction make it a direct drop-in for many OEM sleeve bearing positions without requiring pressed-in bushings or external grease fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for flanged sleeve bearings with a 3/16-inch ID, 5/16-inch OD, and 5/16-inch OAL in equipment requiring an SAE-841 oil impregnated bronze plain bore insert.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician, electrician, or mechanical maintenance technician. Always de-energize and lock out the equipment before removing the existing bearing. Press the bearing into the housing bore using a properly sized driver or arbor press to avoid distorting the flange or collapsing the ID. Do not ream or hone the bore after installation unless the bearing is specifically rated for post-installation sizing.
