The BOSTON GEAR G00304 is an oil impregnated bronze sleeve bearing designed for rotary and oscillating shaft applications where self-lubrication and quiet operation are required. With a 2-inch bore, 2.375-inch outside diameter, and 1.5-inch overall length, this plain bore bearing meets SAE-841 standards for sintered bronze bushings. The porous bronze matrix retains oil and releases it continuously to the shaft surface, reducing friction without external lubrication in many service conditions. It is typically installed by maintenance technicians, millwrights, and industrial mechanics in motors, conveyors, fans, and general power transmission equipment.
This bearing suits light-to-medium radial load applications in industrial and commercial machinery. The plain bore design fits directly onto standard shafts and into housings without modification in most cases. Typical applications include electric motor end plates, pillow block retrofits, pump housings, and fan shaft supports where a press-fit or slip-fit bronze bushing is specified. The oil impregnated construction is well suited to environments where re-lubrication access is limited or maintenance intervals are infrequent.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement sleeve bearing for equipment specifying a 2-inch ID, 2.375-inch OD, 1.5-inch OAL sintered bronze bushing conforming to SAE-841. Also referenced under bearing number AA2304-7.
Installation is typically performed by a millwright, maintenance mechanic, or industrial technician. De-energize and lock out all power to the machine before removing the worn bearing. Press the bearing into the housing bore using an arbor press or bearing driver sized to the outside diameter - never drive against the bore surface. Verify shaft-to-bore clearance per equipment manufacturer specifications before returning the unit to service.
