The BOSTON GEAR 35608 is an oil-impregnated bronze flanged sleeve bearing designed for light-to-medium load rotary and oscillating shaft applications. The plain bore accepts a 9/16-inch (0.5650-inch decimal) shaft, with a 3/4-inch OD (0.7530-inch decimal) and a 1-inch overall length. The integral flange measures 1 inch in outside diameter and 1/8 inch thick, providing a positive axial locating surface during installation. The self-lubricating bronze construction eliminates the need for external lubrication in most service conditions, making this bearing well-suited for installations where ongoing maintenance access is limited. Millwrights, maintenance technicians, and mechanical contractors are the primary installers.
This bearing is used in a wide range of industrial and commercial equipment including conveyors, pumps, small motors, fans, agricultural machinery, and light manufacturing equipment. Its oil-impregnated construction meets SAE 20 (ISO 68) and SAE 30 (ISO 100) lubrication standards, making it compatible with both lighter and moderate viscosity oil systems. The flanged design suits applications where the bearing must seat against a housing shoulder or mounting plate to control axial shaft movement. It is a direct drop-in for worn or failed sleeve bearings of the same bore, OD, and flange geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement flanged sleeve bearing for equipment requiring a 9/16-inch bore, 3/4-inch OD, 1-inch OAL, and 1-inch flange OD with 1/8-inch flange thickness in an oil-impregnated bronze material.
Installation is typically performed by a millwright or qualified mechanical technician. Press or drive the bearing into its housing bore using an appropriate arbor press or installation tool sized to the OD - never strike the bore face directly. Ensure the shaft and housing are clean and free of burrs before installation. Verify shaft-to-bore clearance is within the manufacturer's recommended tolerance before placing the assembly into service.
