The BOSTON GEAR 35576 is an oil impregnated bronze flanged sleeve bearing designed for rotating shaft applications where continuous lubrication is not practical. The plain bore measures 0.439 inches in diameter with a 0.628 inches outside diameter, and an overall length of 1.25 inches. The integrated flange provides axial location and thrust-face support, with a flange outside diameter of 0.875 inches and a flange thickness of 0.125 inches. The bronze matrix retains oil and releases it under load and heat, reducing friction without an external lube line. Licensed HVAC, mechanical, and millwright technicians install this bearing type in fan assemblies, pump housings, conveyor drives, and light-duty power transmission equipment.
This bearing suits residential and light commercial applications where shafts in the 7/16 inch range require a self-lubricating, low-maintenance support. Common install scenarios include blower wheel shaft support in air handlers, small pump motor end bells, and fractional-horsepower motor applications. The flanged configuration simplifies mounting in through-bore housings where the flange seats against the housing face to control axial position. It meets SAE 20 (ISO 68) and SAE 30 (ISO 100) lubricant standards, confirming compatibility with standard industrial and HVAC-grade oils.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement flanged sleeve bearing for equipment using a 7/16 inch shaft bore with a flanged housing seat in light-duty rotating machinery.
A licensed mechanic or qualified technician should de-energize and lock out the equipment before removing or installing this bearing. Press or drive the bearing in evenly to avoid cocking in the bore; use a proper arbor or bushing driver sized to the outside diameter. Do not exceed the rated pressure-velocity limit of 50,000 psi when selecting this bearing for a new application, as overloading the PV rating accelerates wear. Consult applicable machinery manufacturer specifications and relevant ANSI or AGMA standards for housing tolerances and shaft fits.
