The BOSTON GEAR 35570 is a flanged sleeve bearing manufactured from oil impregnated bronze, designed for use in rotating shaft applications where self-lubrication and low maintenance are required. The bearing features a 3/8 inch bore, a 5/8 inch outside diameter, and a 1-1/4 inch overall length. The integral flange measures 7/8 inch in outside diameter with a 1/8 inch thickness, providing a positive axial stop and simplified housing installation. With a plain bore and pre-impregnated oil lubrication, this bearing suits moderate-load, continuous-duty assemblies across HVAC, light industrial, and mechanical drive applications. Installation is typically performed by millwrights, HVAC mechanics, and maintenance technicians.
This flanged sleeve bearing is suited for light to moderate radial load applications in rotating equipment including fans, blowers, conveyor shafts, and small motors. The oil impregnated bronze construction allows the bearing to release lubricant during operation and reabsorb it at rest, reducing the need for external lubrication in many service conditions. It is commonly pressed into cast housings or end plates where the flange seats against a machined face to control axial positioning of the shaft.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service bearing for rotating shaft assemblies requiring a flanged sleeve bearing with a 3/8 inch bore and oil impregnated bronze construction.
Press-fit installation into a machined housing bore is standard practice; ensure the housing bore diameter is sized to achieve the correct interference fit per the bearing outside diameter of 0.6270 inches decimal. De-energize all power to the equipment and lock out the drive before removing or installing shaft bearings. Avoid using sharp-edged tools or excessive side force during pressing to prevent distortion of the bronze bearing wall. Consult applicable machinery manufacturer documentation and relevant industry standards for housing tolerances and shaft finish requirements.
