The BOSTON GEAR 34948 is an oil-impregnated bronze sleeve bearing designed for plain bore shaft support in rotating equipment applications. With an inside diameter of 0.753 inches, an outside diameter of 1.003 inches, and an overall length of 2 inches, this bearing provides a precise fit for 3/4-inch nominal shafts. The sintered bronze construction is pre-impregnated with oil, allowing the bearing to self-lubricate during operation and reducing maintenance intervals. It carries a maximum pressure-velocity rating of 50,000 psi, making it suited for moderate-load, continuous-duty installations. Maintenance technicians and millwrights install this type of bearing in motors, conveyors, fans, and other machinery where low-friction shaft support is required.
This sleeve bearing is applicable to residential and light commercial mechanical systems as well as industrial equipment requiring reliable plain bore shaft support. Typical installations include electric motor housings, pillow block assemblies, blower shafts, and conveyor roller frames. The oil-impregnated bronze material conforms to SAE 20 (ISO 68) and SAE 30 (ISO 100) lubrication standards, making it compatible with common petroleum-based lubricant environments. It is sold individually and is appropriate wherever a 3/4-inch ID, 1-inch OD plain sleeve bearing is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement sleeve bearing for equipment requiring a plain bore bearing with a 3/4-inch inside diameter, 1-inch outside diameter, and 2-inch overall length in oil-lubricated housings.
Sleeve bearings of this type are typically installed by millwrights, maintenance technicians, or licensed mechanical contractors. De-energize and lock out the equipment fully before removing the existing bearing. Use an appropriately sized bearing press or driver to seat the bearing flush and square in the housing bore without deforming the ID. Avoid reaming the bore after installation unless necessary, and confirm shaft-to-bearing clearance meets equipment manufacturer specifications before returning the unit to service.
