The BOSHART UPPME-07 is a 3/4 inch male 90-degree polypropylene insert elbow, also known as a 1/4 bend, designed for use with polyethylene pipe systems. This fitting connects insert-style poly pipe to a male pipe thread outlet, redirecting flow at a right angle. Constructed from polypropylene, it resists corrosion and works well in water service, irrigation, and low-pressure distribution applications. Plumbers and water system technicians install this fitting where a directional change and a threaded connection are needed at the same point in the line.
The UPPME-07 is suited for residential and light commercial polyethylene pipe installations, including potable water service lines, rural water systems, and irrigation distribution networks. The insert end accepts standard polyethylene pipe, secured with a clamp or crimp ring, while the male pipe thread end connects to valves, manifolds, or fittings with a corresponding female thread. It is sold individually and is intended for use where a 90-degree turn and a threaded transition are required in the same fitting body.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard insert fitting for 3/4 inch polyethylene pipe systems requiring a 90-degree male threaded transition.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or irrigation technician. Shut off and depressurize the water supply line before cutting into any existing pipe. Secure the insert end with an appropriately sized clamp or crimp ring rated for the pipe and operating pressure. Apply thread sealant tape to the male pipe thread before making the threaded connection, and tighten to hand-snug plus a controlled turn — do not overtighten polypropylene threads, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
