The ROBERT BOSCH TOOL GROUP GT200 is a 3/16-inch carbide-tipped drill bit engineered specifically for drilling through glass tile and similar hard, brittle surfaces. The precision tip geometry eliminates bit wander and bit walking on contact, so the bit seats accurately without skidding across the tile face. A reinforced carbide head resists cracking under load, extending service life compared to standard masonry bits. This bit comes in a 3-pack and is suited for tile setters, glaziers, and general contractors who regularly work with glass tile, ceramic, and similar materials.
The GT200 is intended for use in residential and light commercial tile installations where precise hole placement in glass tile is required. Common applications include setting hardware in glass tile backsplashes, shower surrounds, and decorative wall installations. The three-flat shank design locks into standard drill chucks to prevent rotation slippage during use. Innovative bit geometry accelerates material removal, reducing heat buildup and drill time on hard tile surfaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use bit for glass tile drilling applications using conventional corded or cordless drills with standard keyless or keyed chucks.
Glass tile drilling should be performed by a qualified tile setter or contractor familiar with hard and brittle surface materials. Use low drill speed and consistent light pressure to avoid cracking the tile substrate. Keep the bit and tile surface cool during drilling by applying water or cutting fluid as needed. Do not use hammer or rotary-hammer mode when drilling glass tile.
