The BOSCH boha-24rtb-m18s is a 2-ton inverter-driven ducted split heat pump in the IDS Edge product line, designed for residential heating and cooling applications. It operates on R-454B refrigerant and delivers up to 19 SEER2 efficiency and 10.8 HSPF2 heating performance. The inverter-driven compressor provides precise capacity modulation, reducing energy consumption and improving comfort control. Cold-climate heating capability extends the unit's usable range in lower outdoor ambient temperatures. The compact side-discharge outdoor unit is suited for both retrofit and new construction installs, and is appropriate for single-zone and multi-zone system configurations. Licensed HVAC technicians handle installation and startup.
The boha-24rtb-m18s is built for residential applications where ducted distribution is already in place or planned. In single-zone configurations, it is compatible with existing IDS Premium air handlers, cased coils, and furnaces within the Bosch IDS platform. For multi-zone setups, the inverter-based outdoor unit supports a range of compatible ducted and ductless indoor options. The compact outdoor footprint makes it practical for tight equipment pads and side-yard installations. This unit fits both retrofit scenarios with existing duct infrastructure and ground-up new construction projects requiring a future-ready refrigerant-compliant system.
For single-zone installations, the boha-24rtb-m18s pairs with existing IDS Premium air handlers, cased coils, and furnaces. For multi-zone applications, the inverter-based platform supports compatible ducted and ductless indoor options within the IDS Edge system family.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician with EPA 608 certification, as this system uses R-454B, an A2L mildly flammable refrigerant that requires specific handling procedures and approved tooling. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing the outdoor or indoor units. Follow applicable local mechanical codes and the manufacturer's installation manual for refrigerant line sizing, line set length limits, and electrical requirements. Do not commission the system without verifying indoor unit compatibility and confirming the total system refrigerant charge per the equipment documentation.
