The BONEHAM SP00008881 is a press fit headless bushing designed for precision bore alignment and wear-surface applications in mechanical assemblies. With an inside diameter of 57/64 inches, a body outside diameter of 1-3/8 inches, and an overall length of 5/8 inches, this bushing installs without a flange or head, sitting flush within the housing bore. Constructed from steel, it provides a durable bearing surface for shafts, pins, or tooling in production fixtures, jigs, and general industrial equipment. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians install this type of component during fixture builds or worn-bore repairs.
This press fit headless bushing suits applications where a low-profile, flush-mount installation is required and a flanged bushing would interfere with mating components. Typical use cases include drill jigs, boring fixtures, and alignment fixtures in light to medium industrial environments. The steel construction handles the compressive and shear loads common in these applications. It is supplied as an individual unit and is not a renewable-style bushing, meaning it is pressed permanently into the housing bore during installation.
Designed as a standard press fit headless bushing conforming to industry code P, suitable for use in drill jigs, boring fixtures, and mechanical assemblies requiring a flush-mount steel bushing with a 57/64-inch inside diameter and 1-3/8-inch outside diameter.
Installation is performed by pressing the bushing into a properly sized housing bore using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive with a hammer directly on the bushing face. Ensure the housing bore is clean and dimensioned to the required interference fit before pressing. Power down and de-energize any equipment before servicing components in live assemblies. Removal of a non-renewable press fit bushing typically requires a bore or press-out procedure, as these are not designed for repeated removal and reinstallation.
