The BONEHAM SFT288HN is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Classified under industry code SF, this bushing features a 17/64 inch inside diameter and a 7/16 inch body outside diameter, with a 1/2 inch length under head. Constructed from hardened steel with a Rockwell hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, the SFT288HN provides consistent bore guidance and resists wear under repeated use. It includes a head and is compatible with LS-TW-2 lock screws for secure seating in renewable bushing liners. Machinists and tooling professionals install this component in drill jigs for production and prototype drilling operations.
This slip-fixed bushing is suited for use in drill jig fixtures where a renewable bushing liner is already installed. The head design keeps the bushing positively located against the jig plate face. The LS-TW-2 lock screw compatibility makes it straightforward to lock and remove the bushing during tool changes or when switching between operations at the same jig station. It is appropriate for both single-operation and multi-operation drilling, reaming, and boring setups in metal fabrication, tool and die, and general machining environments. The ANSI standard designation ensures dimensional interchangeability with other SF-series components.
Designed for use with renewable bushing liners that accept SF-series slip-fixed bushings and LS-TW-2 compatible lock screws per ANSI standards.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists during jig setup or bushing replacement. The slip-fixed bushing is inserted into an installed liner bushing and locked in place with an LS-TW-2 lock screw. Always ensure the jig fixture is secured and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing bushings. Do not force the bushing into the liner; verify that the liner inside diameter matches the SF-series body outside diameter before assembly.
