The BONEHAM SFT288GX is a slip-fixed drill bushing conforming to industry code SF, designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Machined from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers the wear resistance required for repetitive drilling operations in production environments. The inside diameter is 15/64 inches with a tight tolerance of plus 0.0001 to plus 0.0004 inches, ensuring consistent hole location across high-volume runs. The renewable design allows the bushing to be removed and replaced without replacing the jig plate, reducing fixture maintenance downtime. Installation is performed by machinists and tooling technicians working in machine shops, manufacturing cells, and toolroom environments.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs and fixture plates where a headed, slip-fixed bushing is required. The SF industry code designation makes it a standard fit in tooling setups that call for interchangeable renewable bushings. Compatible with LS-TW-2 lock screws for secure retention during operation. Typical applications include production drilling, reaming, and light countersinking operations where repeatable hole position is critical. The headed design seats against the jig plate face, providing a positive stop and preventing the bushing from being pushed through during tool pressure.
Designed for use with LS-TW-2 lock screws. Fits standard SF-style liner bushings as specified by ANSI drill bushing standards. Confirm liner bushing inside diameter and head recess dimensions match this bushing before installation.
Installation is performed by toolroom machinists or fixture builders. Press or slip the bushing into the mating liner bushing by hand and secure with a compatible LS-TW-2 lock screw. Ensure the jig plate and liner bushing are free of chips and burrs before seating. When replacing a worn bushing, remove the lock screw first and rotate the bushing to disengage before pulling it from the liner.
