The BONEHAM SFT2812GZ is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Classified under industry code SF, this head-type bushing features an inside diameter of 0.238 inches (Letter B) with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring accurate tool guidance and repeatable hole location. The body outside diameter measures 7/16 inch (0.4375 inches) and the length under the head is 3/4 inch. Constructed from steel, it is built to withstand the wear demands of production drilling fixtures. Lock screw compatibility is rated for the LS-TW-2 screw, and the bushing is designated as renewable, allowing field replacement without replacing the entire jig plate.
This bushing is used in drill jigs and tooling fixtures across manufacturing, machining, and metalworking applications. The slip-fixed design allows the bushing to be installed and removed without special press equipment, making it suitable for applications where bushing changes are required between operations. It is typically installed and serviced by toolmakers, machinists, and fixture builders working in production or job-shop environments. The head-type configuration seats flush against the jig plate surface, providing positive axial location and resistance to pullout during tool retraction.
Compatible with LS-TW-2 lock screws. Designed as an OEM-style renewable slip-fixed drill bushing for use in standard drill jig plates and tooling fixtures accepting a 7/16 inch body outside diameter.
Installation and replacement should be performed by qualified toolmakers or machinists familiar with drill jig fixture standards. Ensure the jig plate bore and counterbore dimensions match the bushing body OD, head OD, and head height before installation. Secure the bushing using the appropriate LS-TW-2 lock screw and verify seating before resuming drilling operations. Always remove cutting tools and de-energize the machine before servicing or replacing bushings in the fixture.
