The BONEHAM SF488LP is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed for use in jig and fixture applications where tool guidance precision is critical. Built to ANSI standards, this bushing features a 33/64-inch inside diameter and a 0.750-inch body outside diameter. The head-type design allows it to seat against the jig plate surface, providing positive axial location without requiring a separate retaining mechanism. Constructed from hardened steel with a Rockwell hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, it delivers the wear resistance required in production drilling environments. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders typically install and service these components.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig plates and production tooling fixtures in both shop and manufacturing environments. The slip-fixed installation method allows the bushing to be removed and replaced without press-fit tooling, making it practical for fixtures that require bushing changes between operations. It accepts an LS-1 compatible lock screw to secure it in position during use. The 1/2-inch length under head accommodates standard jig plate thicknesses common in light-to-medium duty fixture work.
Designed as an ANSI-standard slip-fixed renewable drill bushing compatible with LS-1 lock screws. Fits jig plates and fixtures designed for SF-series head-type drill bushings with a 1-3/64-inch head outside diameter seating requirement.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists as part of jig and fixture assembly or maintenance. Power down or disengage all machine motion before removing or installing bushings in an active fixture. The slip-fixed design requires an LS-1 lock screw to be properly engaged before use to prevent rotation or axial movement during the drilling operation. Do not force or drive the bushing into the liner with impact tools, as this can damage the bore tolerance.
