The BONEHAM SF4822JW is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed for precision hole location and guidance in jig and fixture applications. Built to industry code SF, it features a 0.386 inch inside diameter (Letter W) and a 0.75 inch body outside diameter. The bushing is manufactured from steel for durability under repeated tooling cycles. A head outside diameter of approximately 1.047 inches and a head height of 0.25 inches retain the bushing positively in the jig plate. It accepts an LS-1 compatible lock screw to prevent rotation or axial movement during drilling operations. Machinists and tooling engineers install this type of bushing in drill jigs used across metalworking and fabrication environments.
This bushing is suited for use in fixed or permanent jig plate installations where the bushing remains in place for the life of the tooling fixture. The slip-fixed design allows the bushing to be installed without pressing, while the lock screw secures it during operation. With a length under head of 1.375 inches, it accommodates moderate plate thickness and provides sufficient tool guidance depth. The renewable bushing designation means the liner or press bushing beneath it can be replaced independently, making it a practical choice for high-cycle production fixtures.
Designed for use with LS-1 series lock screws and renewable liner or press-fit bushings following SF industry standard dimensions. Consult the mating jig plate and liner bushing specifications to confirm body OD and length compatibility before installation.
Installation is performed by tooling engineers or machinists setting up drill jigs and fixtures. Power down any associated machinery and secure the fixture before installing or removing bushings. The lock screw must be engaged fully to prevent the bushing from rotating or lifting during drill operation. Do not modify the inside diameter or bearing surfaces, as dimensional integrity is critical to hole location accuracy.
