The BONEHAM SF2016FN is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed for precision hole-location work in jigs and fixtures. It carries industry code SF and accepts a No. 15 wire gauge drill (0.1800 inch ID) with an inside diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches. The body outside diameter measures 0.3125 inches (5/16 inch) and the length under head is 1 inch. Constructed from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, the SF2016FN delivers the wear resistance required for repetitive drilling operations. It includes a head and is counterbored, and it is compatible with the LS-1 lock screw for secure seating in the liner. Toolmakers, jig-bore operators, and machining technicians are the typical installers.
This bushing is used in drill jig applications where a renewable, slip-in design is needed. The slip-fixed configuration allows the bushing to be inserted into a liner bushing already pressed into the jig plate, then locked in place with an LS-1 compatible set screw. This makes it well-suited for production environments where the bushing must be replaced periodically due to wear without disturbing the jig plate. It conforms to ANSI standards for slip-fixed bushings, which is important on shop floors where interchangeability across tooling setups is required.
Designed for use with ANSI-standard liner bushings and LS-1 lock screws in drill jig setups. Compatible with standard SF-series liner bushings per ANSI specifications.
Installation is typically performed by toolmakers or machining technicians during jig setup or bushing replacement. Power down and lock out all machine tooling before inserting or removing bushings from a jig plate. Seat the bushing fully into the liner, then secure with the appropriate LS-1 lock screw — do not overtighten the lock screw in a way that distorts the bore. Verify ID alignment and concentricity before returning the jig to production use.
