The BONEHAM SF2012CD is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Built to ANSI standards from hardened steel, it features a 0.076 inch inside diameter (wire size 48), a 5/16 inch body outside diameter, and a 3/4 inch length under head. With a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, the bushing resists wear under repeated drill cycles. The head configuration and counterbored design allow secure seating in a drill jig plate, while the LS-1 compatible lock screw keeps the bushing fixed during production runs. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and fixture builders install this type of component.
The SF2012CD fits into the slip-fixed bushing category, where a liner bushing is pressed permanently into the jig plate and the SF bushing drops in and locks for the drilling operation. This configuration is standard in production jigs where bushings must be changed quickly between operations. Typical applications include metal fabrication shops, aerospace fixture work, and general machining environments requiring repeatable hole location. The renewable design allows the bushing itself to be replaced independently without disturbing the liner, reducing tooling maintenance cost over the life of the fixture.
Designed as an ANSI-standard slip-fixed drill bushing for use with LS-1 series lock screws and standard liner bushings in production jig and fixture applications.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die technicians as part of jig plate assembly or bushing replacement. The liner bushing must already be permanently installed in the jig plate before the SF bushing is inserted. Ensure the lock screw is tightened to secure the bushing before beginning any drilling operation. Always verify that the inside diameter is free of chips or debris before each use to maintain hole-location accuracy.
