The BONEHAM PT6410MZ is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and cutting tools with precision in production and tooling applications. Classified under industry code P, this bushing features a 47/64 inch inside diameter, a 1 inch body outside diameter, and a 5/8 inch overall length. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it provides the wear resistance required for repetitive drilling operations. The headless design allows flush seating in jig plates without a protruding collar, keeping the work surface clear. An inside diameter tolerance of plus 0.0001 to plus 0.0005 inches ensures close fit and accurate hole location.
This bushing is used in drill jig fixtures for metalworking, machining, and fabrication applications. It is suited for production environments where consistent hole placement is critical across multiple workpieces. The press fit installation method locks the bushing permanently into the jig plate without additional fasteners, making it appropriate for fixed-location tooling setups. Machinists and tool and die makers typically specify this type of bushing when a renewable liner bushing is not required and a permanent, low-profile guide is preferred.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation drill bushing for use in ANSI-standard jig plate applications requiring a press fit headless style with a 47/64 inch inside diameter and 1 inch outside diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool and die makers using a press or arbor press to seat the bushing flush into a prepared jig plate bore. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct press fit tolerance to achieve proper retention. Do not hammer the bushing in by striking directly on the ID face, as this can damage the bore and affect tool guidance accuracy. This is a non-renewable bushing and is not designed for removal and replacement once pressed in place.
