The BONEHAM PT1610DY is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Built to ANSI standards, this bushing features a 0.1285 inch inner diameter (Wire Size #30) and a 1/4 inch body outer diameter, with an inside diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches for tight, repeatable tool guidance. Constructed from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, the PT1610DY delivers the wear resistance required in production jig and fixture work. Machinists and toolmakers install this type of bushing in drill jigs where a permanent, non-renewable guide is the preferred solution.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig plates and fixture bodies where press fit installation provides a secure, non-rotating mount without a locking head. The headless profile keeps the bushing flush with or below the jig plate surface, making it appropriate for close-tolerance work in metal fabrication and precision machining environments. The 5/8 inch overall length provides adequate guidance depth for standard twist drills and reamers at this diameter range. Typical applications include production runs in job shops, toolrooms, and light manufacturing operations.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jig plates and fixture bodies requiring a permanent, non-renewable bushing at the P industry code size designation.
Press fit bushings are installed by toolmakers or machinist trades using an arbor press or hydraulic press to drive the bushing into a precision-reamed hole in the jig plate. The receiving bore must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal or replacement. Ensure the jig plate is secured and properly supported during pressing to avoid distortion or cracking of the fixture body.
