The BONEHAM P8822NE is a press fit headless drill bushing manufactured from steel and assigned Bushing Industry Code P. It is designed to guide cutting tools such as drill bits and reamers with precision, maintaining accurate hole location across repeated operations. The bushing features a 49/64 inch inside diameter with a close inside diameter tolerance of +0.0002 to +0.0006 inches, ensuring consistent tool alignment. The body outside diameter measures 1-3/8 inches with an overall length of 1-3/8 inches. This is a non-renewable, headless design intended for permanent press-fit installation into a drill jig plate or fixture body. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders work with this type of component in production and job-shop environments.
This bushing suits applications where a permanent, flush-mounted guide is required and the bushing will not need to be removed or replaced during normal service life. The headless profile sits flush with or below the jig plate surface, making it appropriate for close-clearance tooling setups or multi-station fixtures where a headed flange would interfere with workpiece seating or clamp travel. It is well suited for repetitive drilling, reaming, or boring operations in both prototype and production tooling where hole-location repeatability is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style press fit headless drill bushing conforming to Bushing Industry Code P, suitable for standard P-series bored jig plates and drill fixtures requiring a 1-3/8 inch outside diameter bore.
Press fit bushings are installed by a toolmaker or machinist using an arbor press or hydraulic press; the jig plate bore must be machined to the mating tolerance specified for Code P bushings before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal and is classified non-renewable. Ensure the press-fit bore is clean and free of burrs before driving the bushing to avoid galling or misalignment. Follow applicable shop safety procedures when operating a press.
