The BONEHAM P4022KI is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Classified under Industry Code P, this bushing features a 0.413 inch inside diameter, a 5/8 inch outside diameter, and a 1-3/8 inch overall length. Constructed from steel, it provides the wear resistance and dimensional stability required in jig and fixture applications. The headless design allows flush installation in jig plates where a flange would interfere. Inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, ensuring consistent hole location and repeatable tool guidance across production runs.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, fixture plates, and tool guides in machine shop, manufacturing, and maintenance environments. It is installed by pressing directly into a prepared hole in the jig plate or fixture body, eliminating the need for a liner bushing. Typical users include machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians working on production drilling setups or one-off jig builds. The non-renewable design makes it appropriate for permanent or long-run fixture installations where the bushing is not expected to be field-replaced.
Designed as an OEM-style press fit headless drill bushing for use in standard drill jig plates and fixture bodies requiring an Industry Code P bushing with a 0.413 inch bore.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush into a properly sized and finished receiver hole in the jig plate. The receiver hole must be sized to the bushing outside diameter tolerance to achieve the correct interference fit. Power down all machinery and secure the workpiece fixture before pressing the bushing into place. Do not drive the bushing with a hammer directly on the bore face, as this can deform the inside diameter and affect tool guidance accuracy.
