The BONEHAM P325HN is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision in production drilling operations. Built to Industry Code P, this bushing features a 17/64-inch inside diameter and a 1/2-inch body outside diameter, with an overall length of 5/16 inches. Constructed from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it delivers the wear resistance needed for repetitive, high-volume drilling. The inside diameter is held to a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, ensuring consistent tool guidance and accurate hole location. Machinists and toolmakers install this bushing directly into a drill jig plate without a locking head.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig applications where a flush, headless profile is required and the bushing is intended to remain permanently installed. The press fit installation method holds the bushing securely in the jig body without additional fasteners or retaining hardware. It is a non-renewable (fixed) design, meaning it is pressed in once and replaced by pressing out if worn. Typical applications include production machining, tool and die work, and fixture fabrication in both job shop and manufacturing environments.
Designed as an OEM-style fixed drill bushing for use in standard drill jig plates accepting a 1/2-inch outside diameter press fit bushing per ANSI specifications.
Press fit drill bushings are installed by toolmakers or machinist technicians using an arbor press or hydraulic press. The jig plate bore must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation to prevent bushing rotation or pull-out during use. Do not hammer the bushing directly without a driver to avoid damage to the bore or bushing face. Once pressed in, this is a non-renewable bushing and must be pressed out for replacement.
