The BONEHAM P3222FV is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools accurately during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Manufactured from steel with a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers the wear resistance required for repetitive production runs on drill jigs and fixtures. The inside diameter measures 0.191 inches (wire gauge size 11) with a tolerance of plus 0.0001 to plus 0.0004 inches, ensuring precise tool guidance. The body outside diameter is 0.5 inches and the overall length is 1.375 inches. The counterbored design accommodates standard jig plate mounting. Installation is by press fit, requiring no locking collar or head flange.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig and fixture applications across machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and toolroom environments. It is the correct choice when a headless, permanent-style bushing is specified for straight-bore jig plates where the bushing must sit flush with or below the plate surface. The industry code P designation identifies it within the standard ANSI press fit bushing series, making it straightforward to cross-reference against other manufacturers offering the same code. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders are the typical end users.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing (industry code P) for use in drill jigs and fixtures requiring a 0.5-inch outside diameter bore and a 0.191-inch inside diameter tool guide.
Press fit bushings are typically installed by a machinist or tool and die maker using an arbor press or hydraulic press. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Never drive the bushing in with a hammer directly on the face, as this can damage the ID or distort the bushing. Once pressed in, these bushings are not intended for removal and reuse.
