The BONEHAM P264HG is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits with precision in production drilling and jig applications. Manufactured from hardened steel with a surface hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing maintains accurate hole location under repeated use. The inside diameter measures 0.25 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring tight concentricity and consistent guidance for tooling. The body outside diameter is 13/32 inches and the overall length is 1/4 inch. It is installed without mechanical fasteners using a direct press fit into the jig plate, making it well suited for high-volume drilling operations where a low-profile, permanent bushing is required.
This bushing is used in tool and die, fixture, and production machining environments where repeatable hole placement is critical. The headless profile sits flush with or below the jig plate surface, which is common in applications where tooling or workpieces must pass over the plate without interference. It is typically installed by machinists, tool makers, and fixture builders working on drill jigs for metalworking, fabrication, and precision assembly operations. The P industry code designation follows ANSI standards for press fit headless bushings, making it a recognized size for standardized jig tooling.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing suitable for use in drill jigs and fixture plates requiring a permanent, low-profile bushing with a 0.25 inch inside diameter and 13/32 inch outside diameter.
Installation is performed by pressing the bushing into a precision-reamed hole in the jig plate using an arbor press or hydraulic press. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance to achieve proper retention. This is a permanent, non-renewable bushing and is not designed to be removed and replaced during normal service. Always verify that the jig plate hole is clean and free of burrs before pressing to avoid damaging the bushing or distorting the bore.
