The BONEHAM LS-2 is a drill bushing lock screw designed to secure press-fit and slip-renewable drill bushings in jig plates during precision machining and drilling operations. It features a 5/16-18 thread size, a 5/8 inch head diameter, and an overall length of 7/8 inch. The shoulder diameter measures 3/8 inch, and the combined head and shoulder length is 3/8 inch. This type of fastener is a standard component in tooling setups used by machinists, tool and die makers, and production drilling operations where bushing retention and accurate hole location are critical.
The LS-2 lock screw is used in drill jig assemblies where renewable or fixed bushings must be held firmly against the jig plate. It is suited for both low-volume prototype work and high-volume production drilling fixtures. The 5/16-18 thread pattern conforms to ANSI and BMP standards, making it compatible with standard jig plate tapped holes designed for that thread size. Sold individually, it is a direct replacement or supplemental hardware item for jig maintenance and new fixture builds.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard hardware component for drill jig fixtures requiring a 5/16-18 lock screw for bushing retention.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool room technicians during jig setup or bushing replacement. Ensure the jig plate tapped hole is clean and free of chips before threading in the lock screw. Do not overtighten, as excessive torque can crack the bushing flange or damage the jig plate threads. Follow applicable shop standards and fixture design specifications for proper seating and preload.
