The BONEHAM L8816OR is a headless L-series drill bushing liner made from alloy steel for use in jig and fixture tooling applications. This liner provides a precise, hardened guide surface for drill bushings, accepting renewable press-fit bushings that can be swapped without disturbing the jig plate. With a 1 inch inside diameter, a 1-3/8 inch body outside diameter, and a 1 inch overall liner length, it is sized for medium-to-heavy-duty drilling operations. The alloy steel construction is hardened to 60-65 HRC, delivering wear resistance suited to production drilling environments. Installation is by press fit into the jig plate. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders are the primary installers.
This liner is used in drill jigs, fixture plates, and tooling bodies wherever a renewable bushing system is required. The headless design sits flush with or below the jig plate surface, which makes it suitable for applications where a flanged head would interfere with workpiece clearance or fixturing. It is appropriate for both prototype tooling and production-run fixtures across general machining, metalworking, and manufacturing environments where consistent hole location and drill guidance are critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for L-series headless drill bushing liner applications in standard drill jig and fixture tooling systems.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using a press or arbor press to seat the liner into a properly reamed jig plate bore. Ensure the receiving bore is dimensioned to the correct press fit tolerance for the body outside diameter before pressing to avoid bore distortion or liner damage. Do not drive the liner with a hammer directly on the face; use a proper driver or pressing fixture. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and power down any associated machine tooling before performing bushing liner service.
