The BONEHAM H324HG is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from hardened steel for use in precision drilling, reaming, and tooling fixture applications. It features an inside diameter of 0.250 inches with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, a body outside diameter of 0.500 inches, and a length under the head of 0.250 inches. The headed design seats against a fixture plate to resist axial movement during operation. With a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, the bushing provides long service life under repeated tooling contact. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders install this component as a permanent, non-renewable bushing in jig plates and drill fixtures.
This bushing is suited for applications requiring close-tolerance hole guidance in metalworking jigs and fixtures. The press fit installation method makes it a fixed, non-renewable unit, meaning it is intended to remain in place once installed. It is appropriate for both production and prototype fixture assemblies where positional accuracy of drilled or reamed holes is critical. The Type H designation and ANSI compliance make it a standard selection for fixture engineering in machine shops and manufacturing environments.
Designed as an ANSI-standard Type H press fit headed drill bushing for use in jig plates and tooling fixtures requiring a 0.500-inch body diameter press fit seat and 0.250-inch bore guidance.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or fixture technicians using an arbor press or bushing driver to press the bushing flush into a prepared bore in the fixture plate. The receiving hole must be machined to the correct press fit tolerance to achieve proper retention. Ensure all workpieces and fixtures are secured before pressing. Once installed, this bushing is not designed for removal and replacement.
