The BONEHAM H3222IM is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing used to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Machined from steel, this bushing installs into a counterbored plate or drill jig via press fit, where it seats permanently without a locking collar. The inside diameter is 0.3125 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, providing close control over tool runout. The body outside diameter is 0.5 inches and the length under the head measures 1.375 inches. It is installed by toolmakers, machinists, and maintenance technicians working with production jigs, fixtures, and drilling templates.
Type H headed drill bushings are commonly used in drill jig assemblies where the head bears against the top face of the jig plate, locating the bushing axially and preventing it from being pushed through under drilling pressure. The counterbored seat accommodates the head so that the top surface sits flush with or below the jig face. This configuration suits high-volume production drilling operations as well as maintenance and repair fixtures across metalworking, fabrication, and industrial assembly environments. The bushing is not renewable and is intended as a fixed, long-term installation.
Designed as an OEM-style fixed drill bushing for use in standard drill jig and fixture plates that accept Type H press fit headed bushings with a 0.5-inch body outside diameter.
Press fit bushings are typically installed by a toolmaker or machinist using an arbor press to drive the bushing squarely into the prepared bore in the jig plate. The receiving hole must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, the bushing is not designed to be removed or replaced. Ensure the jig plate is secured and properly supported during pressing to avoid distortion of the plate or misalignment of the bushing.
