The BONEHAM H204FF is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Manufactured from steel with a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear under repeated tool passes. It features a 0.1695 inch inside diameter (wire gauge designation No. 18), a 5/16 inch body outside diameter, and a 1/4 inch length under the head. The head outside diameter measures 27/64 inch with a 1/8 inch head height. Inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0004 inch, supporting consistent hole location accuracy in jig and fixture applications. This is a non-renewable, non-counterbored bushing installed permanently into a drill jig plate.
The H204FF is suited for production drilling and machining setups where a fixed, press fit guide bushing is required. It is commonly used in drill jig plates and tooling fixtures across general machining, fabrication, and production environments. The headed design provides a positive stop against the jig plate surface, helping maintain consistent drill depth and preventing the bushing from being pushed through the plate under drilling pressure. Machinists and toolmakers working in job shops or production facilities are the primary installers.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headed drill bushing for use in drill jigs and tooling fixtures requiring a permanent guide bushing with a 0.1695 inch bore and 5/16 inch body outside diameter.
Press fit bushings are installed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press into a precisely bored jig plate hole. The jig plate bore should be sized to the bushing body outside diameter tolerance to achieve the correct interference fit. Never drive the bushing with a hammer directly on the head, as this can damage the head or alter alignment. Verify the jig plate hole depth and flatness before installation to ensure full seating of the bushing head.
