The BONEHAM H2016EG is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing used to guide cutting tools accurately during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. With a 9/64 inch inside diameter and a 5/16 inch body outside diameter, this bushing is pressed directly into a drill jig plate without a locking mechanism, creating a fixed, permanent guide. The head outside diameter measures 27/64 inch with a head height of 1/8 inch, and the length under the head is 1 inch. Constructed from steel, it delivers the hardness and dimensional stability required for consistent hole location in production machining environments. Licensed machinists and toolroom professionals install and use this component in jig and fixture work.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig plates on machine shop floors, toolroom fixtures, and production lines where repeatable hole placement is critical. The press fit installation method makes it appropriate for fixed installations where the bushing is not intended to be removed or interchanged during normal operation. The counterbored head design allows the bushing to seat flush or recessed within the jig plate, keeping the guide face close to the workpiece surface. Typical applications include metalworking and fabrication operations requiring precise hole guidance across medium to high production volumes.
Designed as an OEM-style Type H press fit headed drill bushing for use in standard drill jig plates where a permanent, non-renewable bushing with a 9/64 inch bore is required.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolroom technicians using an arbor press or hydraulic press to drive the bushing into the jig plate bore. Ensure the receiving hole in the jig plate is machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing to avoid bushing distortion. The bushing should be driven squarely to prevent cocking. Once installed, press fit bushings are not intended for removal without risk of damage to the plate or bushing.
