The BONEHAM AM00000642 is a press fit headless drill bushing with a PM industry code designation, designed to guide drill bits with precision during machining operations. Made from hardened steel with a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, it provides consistent bore alignment and resists wear under repeated use. The inside diameter is 6.75 inches, with a tight inside diameter tolerance of +0.005/+0.014 mm for accurate tooling guidance. This bushing installs without a head, keeping a low profile in jig plates where clearance is limited. It is not renewable and is intended as a fixed, permanent installation. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in production and maintenance environments are the primary installers.
This drill bushing suits applications in drill jig setups for production machining, fixture fabrication, and repetitive hole-making operations where drill position repeatability is critical. The press fit installation method means the bushing is driven or pressed directly into a prepared hole in the jig plate with no locking collar or liner required. It is appropriate for use in metalworking shops handling ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a hardened guiding surface is needed to maintain hole location accuracy across high cycle counts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation drill bushing for standard drill jig plates accepting a PM-code press fit headless bushing with a 12.00 mm body outside diameter.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using a press or arbor press to seat the bushing flush with or below the jig plate surface. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be bored or reamed to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing the bushing in. Do not hammer the bushing in freehand, as this can cock the bushing and compromise bore alignment. Because this bushing is not renewable, removal typically requires destruction of the bushing; plan plate layout accordingly before pressing in place.
