The BONEHAM AM00000616 is a press fit headless drill bushing in the PM industry code series, designed to guide drill bits and cutting tools with precision in metalworking and machining fixtures. Manufactured from hardened steel with a Rockwell hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear and maintains accurate hole alignment under repeated drilling cycles. It installs permanently without a head or flange, sitting flush with the fixture plate surface. The inside diameter of 5.9 inches provides the bore size that controls drill positioning, while the hardened bore surface extends service life in high-cycle production tooling applications. Machinists and toolmakers install this component during fixture fabrication and repair.
This drill bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, machining fixtures, and production tooling setups across industrial manufacturing environments. The headless press fit design makes it appropriate for applications where a flush surface is required and the bushing is not intended to be removed or replaced during normal service. It conforms to ANSI standards for drill bushing geometry and is applicable in both light-duty and moderate-production machining scenarios where controlled hole location is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation drill bushing for ANSI-standard drill jigs and machining fixtures requiring a PM-series press fit headless bushing with a 5.9 inch inside diameter.
Press fit drill bushings are installed by toolmakers and machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush into the fixture plate bore. The fixture plate bore must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Do not hammer the bushing in freehand, as this can damage the bore or misalign the bushing. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed to be removed without fixture rework.
