The BONEHAM AM00000297 is a press fit headless drill bushing rated to Industry Code HM, designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Manufactured from hardened steel with a Rockwell hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear and maintains accurate tool alignment through repeated production cycles. The 8.4-inch inside diameter accepts standard tooling and holds an inside diameter tolerance of +0.005 to +0.014 mm for consistent repeatability. It installs without a head or locking collar, seating flush into the jig plate for applications where a low-profile setup is required. Machinists and tooling specialists rely on this bushing in drill jig and fixture assemblies across metalworking and manufacturing environments.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig fixtures in production machining environments where permanent, non-renewable bushing installation is acceptable. The headless press fit design makes it a practical choice for close-tolerance jig plates where clearance above the plate surface is limited. It conforms to ANSI standards, making it compatible with standard tooling setups used in general metalworking and fabrication shops. Installation is permanent by design — this is not a renewable bushing and is not intended for frequent field replacement.
Designed as an ANSI-compliant OEM-style press fit headless drill bushing for use in standard drill jig and fixture assemblies requiring an HM industry code bushing with an 8.4-inch inside diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling specialist using an arbor press to drive the bushing into the prepared jig plate bore — do not hammer directly on the bushing face. Ensure the receiving bore is machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing. Because this is a non-renewable bushing, removal will damage either the bushing or the jig plate and is not recommended. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and de-energize any associated machinery before performing fixture maintenance.
