The BON TOOL 11-366 is a set of two hard rawhide replacement head faces designed for use with clamping-style mallets. Rawhide faces are a standard choice for striking applications that require firm impact without damaging finished surfaces or tool components. Each face measures 2 inches in tip diameter and is finished in brown, consistent with traditional hard rawhide construction. These replacement faces allow technicians and tradespeople to restore a worn mallet to working condition without replacing the entire tool. The package ships with two faces and carries a minimum order quantity of one package.
Hard rawhide mallet faces are used across a range of trades and applications where metal-on-metal contact must be avoided. Common applications include setting chisels, driving wooden or plastic components, aligning masonry units, and general assembly work on finished materials. These faces suit residential and light commercial construction environments. Tile setters, masons, carpenters, and general construction tradespeople regularly use rawhide mallets as part of standard hand-tool setups. Replacing worn faces extends tool service life and maintains consistent strike performance on the job.
Designed as OEM-style replacement faces for clamping-head mallets that accept a 2 inch diameter rawhide face insert. Verify mallet head mount type and face diameter before ordering.
Replacement of rawhide mallet faces is a hand-tool task typically performed by the user in the field or shop. Loosen the clamping head retainer per the mallet manufacturer instructions, remove the worn face, and seat the new rawhide face securely before retightening the clamp. Inspect the mallet handle and head assembly for cracks or damage before reinstalling. Do not use rawhide-faced mallets for striking hardened steel surfaces such as cold chisels, as this will damage the face prematurely.
