The BMI USA 6027 is a brass reducing coupling designed to connect two threaded pipe sections of different diameters in a single inline fitting. It transitions from a 1-inch threaded connection on one end to a 3/4-inch threaded connection on the other, allowing installers to reduce pipe size without additional adapters. Rated at 125 lb pressure class, this fitting is suited for plumbing and fluid distribution systems where a durable, corrosion-resistant metal coupling is required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This reducing coupling is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a pipe run changes from 1-inch to 3/4-inch diameter. Typical applications include water supply distribution lines, hydronic heating systems, and general fluid piping where maintaining a threaded connection on both sides of the transition is necessary. Both connection ends are threaded, making it compatible with standard NPT-threaded pipe and fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch to 3/4-inch threaded pipe systems using standard NPT connections.
Installation of this fitting should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply thread sealant tape or paste to the male threads before assembly to ensure a leak-free connection. Do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque.
