The BMI USA 4260 is a lead-free brass threaded nipple designed for use in plumbing and piping systems where reliable, corrosion-resistant connections are required. Measuring 1/4 inch in diameter and 6 inches in length, this nipple provides a straight pipe extension or connection point between fittings, valves, or other threaded components. Constructed from brass with a red finish, it meets lead-free standards appropriate for potable water applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting in both residential and light commercial systems.
This nipple is suited for use in water supply lines, low-pressure piping assemblies, and other systems requiring 1/4-inch NPT threaded fittings. Its 6-inch length makes it useful in close-quarters installations where a standard hex nipple would be too short but a longer extension pipe is not needed. It is commonly installed in conjunction with shutoff valves, pressure gauges, and other threaded brass or compatible fittings in potable water, hydronic, and general plumbing applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard component for 1/4-inch NPT threaded plumbing assemblies in residential and light commercial piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the male threads before making connections. Do not overtighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
