The BMI USA 4135 is a lead-free brass threaded nipple used to connect sections of pipe in plumbing and fluid-handling systems. At 1/8 inch diameter and 3-1/2 inches in length, this close-tolerance fitting is suited for low-volume lines where a short, rigid connection is needed between two threaded fittings, valves, or fixtures. Machined from brass, it delivers reliable corrosion resistance in potable water and general-purpose plumbing applications. Its lead-free construction meets the requirements of modern plumbing codes for use in drinking water systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of fitting.
This nipple is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where 1/8-inch NPT threaded connections are required. Common applications include supply line branches, boiler piping, and valve manifold assemblies. The 3-1/2-inch length provides enough thread engagement and standout to bridge short gaps between threaded components without the need for a union or coupling. Its compact size makes it a practical stock item for service vans and supply rooms handling small-diameter pipe work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard stock nipple for 1/8-inch NPT threaded plumbing systems in residential and light commercial applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water supply before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten; hand-tighten first, then use a wrench to achieve a proper seal without cracking the fitting body.
