The BK MUELLER 511-341HC is a malleable iron threaded reducing coupling designed to connect pipes of two different diameters in pressurized liquid, gas, and steam systems. It steps down from a 3/4-inch female thread to a 1/4-inch female thread, allowing trade professionals to transition pipe sizes without additional fittings. Rated at 300 psi for liquid and gas service and 150 psi for steam, this Class 150 fitting carries a galvanized finish that resists corrosion in demanding environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this coupling in commercial and residential piping assemblies where size reduction is required inline.
This reducing coupling is suited for use in water supply lines, compressed air systems, natural gas distribution piping, and low-pressure steam systems. Its NPT threaded ends follow standard pipe thread dimensions, making it a direct-fit solution in new construction and retrofit applications. The galvanized malleable iron construction holds up to the mechanical stresses common in industrial and mechanical room environments. It is packaged as a single unit and is well-suited for both service calls requiring a single fitting and larger maintenance stock orders.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for 3/4-inch to 1/4-inch NPT threaded pipe systems in liquid, gas, and steam service applications rated within Class 150 parameters.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters using pipe wrenches and appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service type. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. For gas service, verify all connections with an approved leak-detection solution before restoring pressure. Installations must conform to applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC requirements for gas piping systems.
