The BK MUELLER 511-208HN is a 2-inch malleable iron threaded pipe coupling rated for 300 psi liquid and gas service and 150 psi steam service. Finished with a galvanized coating, this Class 150 fitting is designed to join two sections of threaded pipe in plumbing, mechanical, and gas distribution systems. The all-threaded end connections allow for straightforward installation using standard pipe wrenches and thread sealant. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors working on both new construction and retrofit projects will find this coupling suitable for a range of pipe system applications.
This coupling is used in residential and commercial piping systems carrying liquid, gas, or low-pressure steam. Typical install scenarios include water supply lines, natural gas distribution piping, compressed air lines, and hydronic heating systems where a reliable threaded union between two pipe runs is required. The galvanized finish offers additional corrosion resistance for exposed or mildly corrosive environments. Its Class 150 rating makes it appropriate for standard-pressure service lines found throughout commercial mechanical rooms and residential utility spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 2-inch threaded malleable iron pipe systems in residential and commercial plumbing, gas, and mechanical applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, including the IPC and IFGC where relevant. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly and tighten using a pipe wrench to achieve a leak-free joint. For gas service installations, test all connections for leaks after pressurization before returning the system to service.
