The BK 510-305BG is a 1-inch 90-degree street galvanized malleable iron elbow fitting, also known as a quarter bend. It is used to change pipe direction in threaded piping systems and is built from galvanized malleable iron meeting ANSI/ASTM A-197 material standards. Each fitting is individually flag tagged and 100% inspected and quality tested before leaving the factory. The Mueller logo is cast directly into the body of each fitting. At 0.604 pounds, this elbow is a standard single-unit fitting suited for plumbing and mechanical piping installations handled by licensed plumbers and pipefitters.
This street elbow is designed for use in residential and light commercial threaded piping systems where a 90-degree directional change is required. A street elbow features one male and one female threaded end, allowing it to connect directly to another fitting without a nipple in between. It is commonly installed in water supply, gas distribution, and general mechanical piping applications where galvanized iron is the specified material.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch threaded galvanized malleable iron piping systems conforming to ANSI/ASME dimensional standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) where relevant. Shut off and depressurize the piping system before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten threaded connections, as malleable iron fittings can crack if excessive force is applied.
