The BK 510-302BG is a 3/8-inch 90-degree street galvanized malleable iron elbow, also referred to as a 1/4 bend, used in threaded pipe assemblies. Cast from malleable iron meeting ANSI/ASTM A-197 standards, this street elbow accepts a male thread on one end and a female thread on the other, allowing direct connection without an additional nipple. Each fitting carries the Mueller logo cast into the body and is individually flag tagged. Fittings are 100 percent inspected and quality tested before leaving the facility. Threads conform to ANSI B1.20.1 for reliable, leak-resistant makeup in piping systems.
This elbow is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, gas distribution, and general mechanical piping applications where a 90-degree directional change is required in a 3/8-inch threaded line. The street configuration saves space in tight installations by eliminating an extra coupling or nipple at the turn. Plumbers and pipefitters commonly use fittings of this type in water supply, low-pressure gas, and compressed air piping layouts.
Designed as a standard NPT threaded street elbow for use in 3/8-inch malleable iron pipe fitting systems in plumbing, gas, and mechanical piping applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and IFGC requirements. Shut off supply pressure and depressurize the line before disassembling any fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before makeup; do not overtighten, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive torque. Verify the completed assembly for leaks before returning the system to service.
