The BK 507-020 is a Schedule 80 PVC nipple used for the transport of water and other liquids in pressurized piping systems. Sized at 1-1/2 inches by 2 inches, it follows IPS (iron pipe size) standards and is threaded to NPT (National Pipe Thread) specifications. The heavier wall thickness of Schedule 80 construction makes this nipple suitable for higher-pressure applications compared to Schedule 40. Pipe thread compound or sealing tape must be applied to the threaded portion before installation. Meets ASTM D1785 specifications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
This nipple is used wherever a short threaded PVC connection is needed between fittings, valves, or equipment in water supply and fluid-handling systems. It fits standard NPT-threaded fittings and valves. Common applications include irrigation systems, pool and spa plumbing, chemical handling lines, and general water distribution where PVC is the specified pipe material. Its NPT threading ensures a compatible connection with the wide range of standard threaded fittings available in trade supply.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard NPT-threaded Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using 1-1/2-inch pipe size.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before making any threaded connections. Always apply pipe thread compound or PTFE sealing tape to the male threads before assembly. Hand-tighten first, then use strap wrenches or appropriate PVC-safe tools to achieve a snug fit — do not over-torque PVC threaded connections, as the material can crack under excessive force.
