The BK 164-136HC is a Schedule 80 PVC threaded union sized for 1-1/4 inch FIP connections. It is designed for pressurized water and chemical piping systems where a removable, leak-tight joint is needed without cutting pipe. The body is heavy-duty white PVC with an EPDM O-ring seal that provides reliable closure under pressure. Rated at 150 psi at 73 degrees F, with a maximum service temperature of 150 degrees F, this union suits both residential and light commercial plumbing and industrial piping applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers.
This union is suited for cold and ambient-temperature water supply lines, irrigation systems, pool and spa plumbing, and chemical distribution piping where PVC is an approved material. Its FIP x FIP threaded ends allow connection to standard male-threaded pipe or fittings. Because it accepts both Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 pipe, it works across mixed piping systems without requiring a separate adapter. The white PVC construction resists corrosion and is compatible with a wide range of non-oxidizing chemicals.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/4 inch Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC piping systems with FIP-threaded connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before disassembling or installing any union. Apply thread sealant tape or compound rated for PVC and potable-water service to the male threads before making up the connection; do not overtighten, as PVC threads can crack under excessive torque. Local plumbing codes and IPC requirements govern approved applications and pressure ratings.
