The BEST WELDS 900-7018-18x50-vp is an E7018 low-hydrogen mild steel stick electrode designed for shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) on carbon steel base materials. At 1/8 inch in diameter and 14 inches in length, this electrode delivers excellent arc starting and stable arc performance throughout the weld pass. The E7018 classification indicates a low-hydrogen, iron-powder flux coating that produces smooth, clean weld deposits with good mechanical properties. This 50-pound vacuum pack (vend pack) format is suited for job sites and shop environments where moisture control and bulk supply are priorities. Licensed welders and certified fabricators working on structural, maintenance, and general fabrication applications are the primary users.
This electrode is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial welding applications involving carbon steel. The E7018 classification is widely specified in structural fabrication, pipe repair, pressure vessel work, and general maintenance welding. The vacuum pack format is particularly useful in high-humidity environments where low-hydrogen electrode integrity must be maintained prior to use. For best performance, electrodes should be stored in a rod oven at the manufacturer-recommended temperature when not in immediate use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use electrode for SMAW applications on carbon steel base materials using standard CC DC or AC-capable stick welding power sources compatible with E7018 electrodes.
E7018 electrodes must be kept dry prior to use — store in a rod oven at the temperature specified on the packaging to maintain low-hydrogen classification. Welders should follow AWS D1.1 or applicable structural welding codes for preheat requirements when welding carbon steel. Personal protective equipment including proper welding lens shade, gloves, and ventilation are required during use. Do not use electrodes that show signs of moisture absorption, flux cracking, or damaged coating.
