The BERKELEY S39539 is a single-phase AC straight centrifugal pump rated at 2-1/2 horsepower and 230 volts for demanding water transfer and circulation applications. Built with a cast iron housing and brass impeller, the S39539 delivers up to 92 GPM at 20 feet of head and sustains a maximum head pressure of 142 psi. The totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) motor is rated for 60 Hz service and handles fluid temperatures up to 225 degrees F. This pump is suited to commercial and industrial water supply, irrigation, dewatering, and HVAC hydronic systems where a robust, high-flow straight-configuration pump is required. Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or mechanical contractors.
The S39539 is configured for inline or close-coupled straight pump installations. The 2-inch FPT inlet and 1-1/2-inch FPT outlet connect directly to threaded iron or steel pipe. Its cast iron housing and brass impeller make it appropriate for clean water and mildly corrosive fluids within the rated temperature range. Flow performance scales from 92 GPM at 20 feet of head down to 37 GPM at 120 feet of head, giving the installer a broad operating range for pressure zone and distribution system design. The pump is intended for single-phase 230-volt power circuits common in residential-to-light-commercial service panels.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or mechanical contractor in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Ensure inlet piping is free of air pockets and that suction lift does not exceed the pump curve limits to avoid cavitation. Do not run the pump dry, as the cast iron housing and impeller depend on fluid for internal lubrication and cooling.
