The BELDEN INC. OSP6AU 0101000 is a Category 6A unshielded twisted pair (U/UTP) outside plant riser-rated cable supplied on a reel in black jacket. Designed for structured cabling installations that run between buildings or through outdoor conduit before transitioning into a riser pathway, this cable meets Cat6a performance standards supporting 10 Gigabit Ethernet at frequencies up to 500 MHz. The outside plant construction is built to withstand moisture, UV exposure, and temperature extremes encountered in direct-burial or conduit-fed outdoor runs. Network installers and low-voltage cabling contractors are the primary trade that specifies and terminates this cable.
This cable is suited for enterprise campus networks, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities where outdoor backbone runs must maintain Cat6a signal integrity before entering riser-rated vertical pathways inside a structure. Typical applications include conduit runs between buildings, underground pathways, and aerial installations where OSP-rated jacketing is required by the network design. The riser rating also satisfies NEC requirements for indoor vertical runs once the cable transitions inside the building.
Designed as an OSP riser-rated Cat6a cable for use with standard RJ-45 Cat6a termination hardware including patch panels, keystones, and field-terminated connectors in structured cabling systems built to TIA-568 standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage cabling contractor or qualified network infrastructure technician familiar with TIA-568 and applicable NEC articles for communications wiring. De-energize any adjacent powered infrastructure before pulling cable through shared conduit or trays. Seal conduit entry points at building penetrations to prevent moisture ingress per applicable building and fire codes. Do not exceed the cable's minimum bend radius or maximum pulling tension during installation.
