The BELDEN INC. FISD144PK is a FX Indoor OS2 distribution tight buffer fiber optic cable rated for riser (OFNR) installations. OS2 single-mode fiber delivers low-loss, long-distance optical performance suited to backbone and horizontal distribution runs inside commercial and industrial buildings. The tight buffer construction protects individual fibers during handling and termination, making field installation more manageable than loose-tube designs. Licensed electricians and low-voltage cabling technicians are the typical installers for this category of cable.
This cable is designed for indoor riser applications where the cable must pass vertically between floors in a building. It is well suited to structured cabling backbones, data centers, campus distribution closets, and telecommunications rooms. The OS2 single-mode fiber type supports high-bandwidth, long-reach runs that multi-mode fiber cannot match, making it a common choice in enterprise and institutional network infrastructure projects.
Designed as an OEM-style indoor riser single-mode OS2 distribution tight buffer fiber optic cable for use with standard SC, LC, ST, and FC connector terminations in structured cabling systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage cabling technician or electrician familiar with ANSI/TIA-568 structured cabling standards and local building codes. De-energize all active equipment connected to the cable path before pulling or terminating. Observe the cable minimum bend radius at all times during routing to avoid micro-bend losses. Riser-rated cable must be installed in accordance with NEC Article 770 requirements for optical fiber riser (OFNR) applications.
