The BELDEN cat6e is a Category 6 unshielded twisted pair data cable designed for structured cabling installations in commercial and institutional buildings. Built with 24 AWG solid copper conductors across four pairs, it delivers reliable Gigabit Ethernet performance in horizontal and backbone runs. Rated CMP (plenum) under NEC, it meets the fire and smoke requirements for installation in air-handling spaces, making it appropriate for above-ceiling and open-plenum environments. The blue jacket aids with cable identification in high-density patch fields and telecommunications rooms. Licensed electricians and low-voltage cabling technicians are the primary installers of this product.
This cable is suited for indoor structured cabling in office buildings, schools, hospitals, and similar commercial facilities where plenum-rated cable is required by code. It supports standard horizontal runs from telecommunications rooms to workstation outlets, as well as backbone and inter-floor runs in riser-rated configurations. The four-pair, unshielded construction supports 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) applications over standard Category 6 channel distances.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard Category 6 structured cabling solution compatible with RJ45 Category 6 keystone jacks, patch panels, and outlets following TIA-568 termination standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or certified low-voltage cabling technician in accordance with NEC Article 800 and local building codes. De-energize any adjacent powered cabling infrastructure before working in the same conduit or cable tray. Maintain minimum bend radius requirements and avoid stapling or over-cinching with cable ties, as excess compression on UTP cable degrades pair geometry and transmission performance. Terminate both ends to the same T568A or T568B wiring standard throughout the channel.
