This unit replaces the existing thermostat and seat, featuring a heavy-duty thermostatic element that is encapsulated in a stainless steel cage. The cage is designed to ensure reliable opening and closing. The unit is secured by a protrusion that fits into the trap’s orifice, while a high tension spring maintains pressure on the cover to prevent movement. When steam is detected, the thermostatic element expands, sealing the ball plunger against its internal seat. This containment remains until the steam condenses into liquid, at which point the element contracts to allow drainage of the condensate.
